10. The Khayang peak

The Khayang peak is located in Ukhrul district of Manipur which is known as the land of colourful Tangkhuls. It is the highest peak of the region with an altitude of 3114 m above sea level.  The Anamudi holds the pride of Kerala and it is the tallest peak of South India. It holds an elevation area of 2,695 meters. It is considered to be the highest point in India while leaving the other peaks located in the Himalayan region.  It serves as a home for a variety of wildlife species like Asian elephants, Gaurs and tahrs. People who are visiting Anamudi will have a greenish treat to their eyes as it is surrounded by lush green trees like Anaphalis sp, Arundinaria Densifolia, Gaultheria Fragrantissima, just the nature itself. The best thing to know about Anamudi is the Neelakurinji flower, which blossoms every twelve years. Best time to visit Anamudi is between the months of November and May.

7. The Sandakphu

The Sandakpu is located in the state of West Bengal. It is the highest point of Singala Ridge and it holds an elevation area of 3,636 m. One can have a clear view of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhoste and Makalu while standing on the summit of Sandakphu. The best view one can get is the Kanchenjunga’s view which is known as the Sleeping Buddha/Shiva. Most of the people visit this place only to have this marvellous view as the clouds resting on the cluster of mount Kangchenjunga surrounded by pine forests and breathtaking landscapes. People who are trekking through the Sandakphu can see some of the beautiful spots like Gorkhen and samanden villages. Best time to visit the Sandakphu is during the summer months of April and May where the temperature ranges between 6 degrees C to 12 degrees C.

6. The Saramati

The Saramati is the highest peak in State of Nagaland which is holding an elevation area of 3,841  m. This place is known for trekkers delight. The trek starts from the village of Thanamir and it is a two-day process. There also some people to guide you along with the registration fees. Throughout the winter it is covered by snow. The Saramati has a variety of Orchids and good bio-diversity in Flora and Fauna. There are a lot of houses for accommodation in these areas along with military presence as because this peak lies between the Nagaland and Myanmar border.

5. The Reo Purgyil

The Reo Purgyil is located in the border region of the Himachal Pradesh district and Tibet. It is a part of Zanskar Range. It towers 4 KM above the Sutlej river. This peak is often obscured by clouds. In the northern part of the massif drains the Spiti River, a right-hand tributary of Satluj. According to geology, this peak is dome structured. The best season to trek on this mountain is between June to September and according to the grade chart, it is difficult to climb. The total duration of the trek will be 24 days.

4. The Kamet

Mount Kamet is located at Chamoli District of Uttarakhand. It is the highest peak in the entire Garhwal Himalayas and is the 29th highest peak in the world. This mountain is known as lower snow which is attracted by mountaineers in Tibet. The peak resembles a pyramid surrounded by the flat summit. There are three glaciers surrounding the Kamet peak they are Paschim Kamet glacier which is in the west, Purbi Kamet glacier which is in the east and the Raikana glacier system. Till date, this place is not much known to many but is a good place to visit.

3. The Saltoro Kangri

Saltoro Kangri is located in the Jammu and Kashmir. It can be also called as Saltoro Range which is a part of Karakoram. Due to military operations, this place is visited by only a small amount of people. Saltoro Kangri is divided into two parts west and east where the western part is controlled by Pakistan and the Eastern part is controlled by India. This peak rise above the valleys of the Kondus and Saltro river of Baltistan.

2. The Nanda Devi

As we all know, one of the highest mountains in India is MT Nanda Devi. It is located in the Uttarakhand with an elevation of 7,824 meters. According to the location, it is the first highest peak of India as because MT Kanchenjunga lies on the borders of India and Nepal. Literally, the word Nanda Devi means ‘Blessed Goddess’. Because of its beauty, it has been regarded as the pearl of the Himalayas. It consists of two summits Nanda Devi West and Nanda Devi East. The total height of Nanda Devi West is 25,643ft and the height of Nanda Devi East is 24,389ft. The visitors will have a visual treat of its twin peaks, which is a rare example of the twin peaks. The name Kanchenjunga is derived from 4 Tibetan words, they are Kang-Chen-dzo-nga. The name Kanchenjunga means “Five Treasures of the Snow”. It holds the third place in the highest mountains of the world and in India it holds the first place among the highest mountains. It has an elevation area of 8.586 m. The arms of this mountains extend in east, west, north and south which makes the mountain looks like a gigantic cross. Kanchenjunga has rocks between Neoproterozoic age to Ordovician age. This mountain can be clearly viewed from many points in Darjeeling and Gangtok. One of the best spots to get a spectacular view of this mountain is the Tiger Hills. This mountain is well known for its myths and religious beliefs which are followed by the local inhabitants.
