List of All OBC Scholarship 2019-20: Application Form, Last Date, Eligibility

Other Backward Class (OBC) is a community which is economically backward and educationally disadvantaged. Government of India is enjoined to develop and ensure OBC community gets education benefits through scholarship programs.

National Fellowship for the OBC students

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment awards the ‘National Fellowship’ to all the OBC students for post graduate programs. The scholarship is provided for 2 years with a maximum allowance or 25,000 Rupees per month and additional 5000 Rupees for living expenses.

Eligibility

  • Students pursuing MPhil and PhD can apply for National Fellowship program.
  • Students must produce their OBC certificate.
  • Family income should be less than 6 lakhs rupees annually.
  • Transgender students are also eligible to apply for the scholarship.
  • Selection is based on merit and the fellowship amount is credited to the candidates account from date of joining in the MPhil or PhD program.
  • The respective college or university can apply for the fellowship per the guidelines.

Application Form

  • As a first step go to https://www.ugc.ac.in/ugc_schemes/ website and select the National Fellowship for OBC and register yourself
  • Select the Apply option and fill out all the personal details and academic details with Aadhar number and bank information.
  • The number of slots available for the scholarship is 300, hence the candidates must duly fill the application in time.

Deadline for Application

The deadline for applying scholarship for the year 2020 is December 2019. And for 2019 it is 24th December 2018. The guidelines for National Fellowship scholarship is available on https://www.ugc.ac.in/ugc_schemes/

Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for OBC students

The government of every state offers the scholarship to OBC candidates. However, the funding is completely from Central government of India. The scholarship is provided to students who have passed Class 12. An amount up to 1000 Rupees monthly is provided to all the eligible students.

Eligibility

  • The family of the student must have annual income less than 1 lakh Rupees.
  • The student must belong to OBC community or SC/ST per the scholarship policy.

Application Form

  • Visit the website https://scholarships.gov.in/fresh/
  • The student must register online and fill the scholarship form with Aadhar card details, personal information, upload a passport size photo, previous class academic documents, bank information and caste certificate.
  • The student must provide accurate email id and phone number as the confirmation is sent through email id.
  • The students are requested to submit only one application. Multiple applications are considered as duplicate and will be rejected.

Deadline for Application

The application deadline is usually end of October. Please refer the website https://scholarships.gov.in/  for notifications for any extension of the date.

Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students

Every state government offers pre-matric scholarship to the students from OBC background to ensure they get the opportunity to education. 50% of the fund is provided by Central government of India and in case of Union territory 100% funding comes from Central government of India.

Eligibility

  • The students who are studying Class 1 to Class 10 can apply for the scholarship.
  • The student must belong to backward community and family annual income must not exceed 44,500 Rupees.
  • The students who belong to Class 1 will not get the scholarship.

Application Form

  • The student/school must register themselves in https://scholarships.gov.in/  and select the apply option.
  • After registering into the website, application form should be filled with Aadhar card details, caste certificate, academic eligibility documents as per the requirement and bank information.
  • Before submitting the application, student must cross verify the email id and other details as the application and funding confirmation will be sent to the email id provided by the student.
  • Please ensure there are no duplicate applications as they will be rejected.
  • For returning students, follow the renewal guidelines sited in the website.

Last Date

The last date for applying scholarship is end of October every year.

ONGC Scholarship for OBC candidates

ONGC scholarship is provided by Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited for OBC candidates. Students who have passed Class 12 are eligible to apply for the scholarship given they are enrolled in bachelors program. They provided 4000 Rupees per month for the eligible candidates.

Eligibility

  • The student must secure a minimum of 60% marks in Class 12.
  • The candidate must belong to OBC and the family annual income should not be more than 2 lakh rupees.
  • The candidate age must not be beyond 30 years as of September 1st.

Application

  • The student must register themselves in www.ongcindia.com and apply for the scholarship per the timelines.
  • The student should fill all the details and produce mark sheets of Class 12 and must have Head of the Institute signature on all the documents as guided in the instruction page.
  • Submit the application as soon as possible to avoid rejections as there are limited slots and ensure the email id is accurate as all the communication to the student is done through email.
  • The students can check result of their scholarship on their official website www.ongcindia.com.

The commencement of application starts in September and ends in October every year. Please visit the website www.ongcindia.com for notifications.
