1. PM Narendra Modi Scholarship

About

Also known as Chaatravriti Yojana, this scholarship scheme by PM Modi aims at supporting students of 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th classes to support their higher education.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must have secured at least 75% in 12th board exams
  • The applicant must belong to financially weak background

Last Date (2018/2019)

For 2018, it has already passed on 15th November 2018.

2. National Merit-cum-Means Scholarship

About

Offered to students belonging to minority community, Merit-cum-Means scholarship is for pursuing of technical and professional courses & diplomas. Backed by Ministry of Minority Affairs, it helps in supporting the students with tuition fees, maintenance charges and basic expenses.

Eligibility

  • The candidate must have either 50% score in class 12th or should have qualified Common Admission Test (CAT) or both
  • Family income less than 2.5 lakh rupees per annum
  • 30% seats are reserved for female applicants

3. CBSE Merit Based Scholarship for single girl child

About

In order to empower girl students, this scholarship avails +2 education to girl students of 10th class who are also single girl child.

Eligibility

  • The candidate must be single female child of the parents
  • Score of 60% or above
  • Passing Certificates of Board Exams

Powered by Ministry of Science & Technology, INSPIRE is a programme abbreviated for Innovation in Science Pursuit for Knowledge. Students interested in pursuing their career in the field of science and technology can benefit from this scheme. A total of 10000 scholarships are awarded to the students.

  • The student should have secured a rank in Top 10000 of JEE or NEET exam

8. Aditya Birla Scholarship Scheme

About

Aditya Birla Scholarship Scheme is aimed at encouraging future leaders of India to grow and create possibilities. The scholars get to avail fantastic opportunities to connect and learn from great leaders, executives and managers in global corporations, institutions and conglomerates. Nearly 450 to 500 students are admitted in the scholarship program. Top 20 candidates are selected from each institute through an entrance test.

Eligibility

  • The candidate should be a student of some specific top-tier institutions including IITs, IIMs, XLRI and BITS Pilani. After passing class 12th, the candidate should have qualified an entrance test to get shortlisted in any of these institutes.
  • For law students, the institutes include National Law School of India, NALSAR University of Law- Hyderabad, WB National University of Juridical Sciences, National Law University – Jodhpur and Gujarat National Law University.

9. Central Sector Scholarship

About

Central Sector Scholarship is for 12th class students on a way to take admission in college or university. The scholarship offers upto five years of financial support. It is sponsored by the Central Board of Secondary Education.

Students scoring more than 80% in 10th and 12th classes and who are not involved in any other scholarship program, are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

10. Handicapped Scholarship from State Government

About

In every sector of education, there are some differently-abled students or students with disabilities, who require self care as well as support at a financial, mental or physical level. Each year, nearly 2000 scholarship applicants are invited out of which, 30% are reserved for females.

Eligibility

  • A candidate should have scored at least 50% marks in the higher secondary board examinations
  • For female candidates, the score can be exempted to 45%
  • Applicants from weaker economic background are preferred over others however, at most, the family income of an applicant shouldn’t exceed 3 lakhs per annum.

11. Police Centenary Scholarship

About

Initiated by Ministerial Staff of the Police Department, this scholarship is aimed at supporting the children of Non-Gazetted police officers. The children passing out of 10th and 12th classes are offered financial support to pursue higher education.

12. N. Agriculture Labour Welfare Society Scholarship

About

This is a scholarship scheme initiated by Tamil Nadu Labour Welfare Board to support the children of labourers and workers in pursuing higher education.

Eligibility

  • The parent of the applicant must belong to labour and workforce in Tamil Nadu or any state coming under the circle of the scholarship scheme. The monthly income of the worker must be less than ₹15000.

About

Offered by the Foundation for Academic Excellence and Access, FAEA Scholarship is to provide support to the 12th class students on roll; so that they can pursue undergraduate courses in different streams including Arts, Science, Medical, Commerce, and Engineering.

  • Candidates from socially and economically disadvantaged section in Below Poverty Line

14. Golden Jubliee Scholarship Scheme

About

With a vision to create future leaders and employability, LIC of India has founded a scholarship scheme to fund and support meritorious students to excel in higher education.

Eligibility

  • A student passing out of class 12th must have secured at least 60% of 6 CGPA in board exams
  • A student passing out of class 10th must have secured at least 60% of 6 CGPA in board exams. The amount of scholarship for 10th class students will depend on the income bracket of parents and overall family.
