General Scholarship Program under Oasis Scholarship

There are eligibility criteria associated with every program but the provider of the scholarship is the same.   • Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST

Application Period – It must be noted that the application period for all the four programs is from May to November. You can check out the website about the exact schedule and last day for the application. Most of the times, the government also extend the deadlines but you must plan as per the initial deadline as there is certain documentation required to submit the application.

Eligibility Criteria for Oasis Scholarship Program

The eligibility criteria for each of these programs mentioned above vary with each other. There are some general points but there is also some variation in the scholarship program.   • Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST

    • The student should be a resident of West Bengal
    • The student should belong to ST Category and the student should have a caste certificate for the same
    • The student should be in Class IX on Class X
    • The annual income of the family should not be more than Rs 2 Lakh
  • Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC
    • The student should be residing in West Bengal
    • The student should have a caste certificate for applying for this scholarship scheme under SC Category
    • The student should be in Class IX on Class X.
    • The annual income of the family for this scholarship should also be less than Rs 2 Lakh
  • Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC
    • The student should be a resident of West Bengal with a domicile certificate.
    • The student should belong to OBC Category. Scholarship under this category cannot be applied by the students under SC or ST Category.
    • The student should be studying in post-matric level
    • The annual income of the family should not be over Rs 1 Lakh
  • Post-Matric Scholarship for SC/ST
    • The student should be a resident of West Bengal.
    • The student should belong to SC or ST category to apply for the scholarship.
    • The student should be enrolled in a post-matric level of education.
    • The annual income of the family of the student should not be over Rs 2.5 Lakh.

Benefits Offered by Oasis Scholarship Programs

Each scholarship program offered by Oasis Scholarship varies not only in terms of eligibility criteria but also in terms of the benefits offered by this. There are different benefits and in this section, you will find the financial benefits that the student is eligible for under these various scholarship programs

Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST

    • Day Scholar – The students are offered Rs 150 per month for a period of 10 months along with Rs 750 per annum of ad-hoc Grant
    • Hostellers – The students are offered Rs 750 for a period of 10 Months along with Rs 1000 per annum as ad-hoc The higher amount is offered here because of the higher expenses that students have to incur for staying in the hostel away from home.

Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC

    • Day Scholar – The students are offered Rs 150 per month for a period of 10 months along with Rs 750 per annum of ad-hoc Grant
    • Hostellers – The students are offered Rs 750 for a period of 10 Months along with Rs 1000 per annum as ad-hoc The higher amount is offered here because of the higher expenses that students have to incur for staying in the hostel away from home.
    • The amount here is same as that of Pre- Matric Scholarship for ST students.

Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC

In this case, the scholarship amount depends on the course and standard that the student is in. The amount can vary largely from one course to another. Below are more details for the same.

  • Class XI & XII or Intermediate Course or ITI or Polytechnic Course – In this case, the day scholars are eligible for maintenance amount of Rs 160 monthly whereas, hostellers are eligible for maintenance amount of Rs 260 per month.
  • General Graduation Course – In this case, the day scholars can get the benefits of upto Rs 210 per month and the hostellers can get the benefits of Rs 400 per month.
  • B.Nursing, LLB, Hotel Management, B.Pharma, Other Post Graduate Course– For these courses, the amount is again higher. The monthly amount offered here is Rs 330 per month for day scholars and Rs 510 per month for the students who are staying in a hostel.
  • Medical, Engineering, B.SC (Agri), M.Phil., Ph.D., LLM– This is the last category and in this category, the day scholars are offered Rs 350 per month and the students who are availing hostel facilities are offered Rs 750per month.

Post-Matric Scholarship for SC/ST

    • Class XI & XII or Intermediate Course or ITI or Polytechnic Course – In this case, the day scholars are eligible for maintenance amount of Rs 230 monthly whereas, hostellers are eligible for maintenance amount of Rs 750 per month.
    • General Graduation Course – In this case, the day scholars can get the benefits of upto Rs 300 per month and the hostellers can get the benefits of Rs 750 per month.
    • B.Nursing, LLB, Hotel Management, B.Pharma, Other Post Graduate Course – For these courses, the amount is again higher. The monthly amount offered here is Rs 530 per month for day scholars and Rs 820 per month for the students who are staying in a hostel.
    • Medical, Engineering, B.SC (Agri), M.Phil., Ph.D., LLM – This is the last category and in this category, the day scholars are offered Rs 550 per month and the students who are availing hostel facilities are offered Rs 1200per month.

Documents Required

The documents required for application of scholarship are

  • Aadhaar Card
  • Annual Income Certificate
  • Bank Passbook
  • Cast Certificate
  • Cancelled Check of Student Account
  • Domicile Certificate
  • Fee Receipt
  • Latest Mark sheet
  • Photograph
  • Study Certificate from College

For renewal of scholarship, the documents required are much less. In that case, you just need your photo, caste certificate, Aadhaar card and latest mark sheet along with study certificate.

Application Process for Oasis Scholarship

Follow the process below to apply for a scholarship

  • Homepage – Visit the website for Oasis at http://oasis.gov.in/ and click on Student Registration Button.
  • Registration – On the next page, select your district. It should be noted that the district should be where the educational institute is located. Also, enter the caste certificate details.
  • Verification – After the verification of details, you will be taken to a new page and you need to fill in all details here to complete registration. You can now get your Login information by navigating to Download Login Information/Acknowledgement Slip
  • First Login – You need to go to the home screen again and once that is done, click on log in Now Button. You will be redirected to the login From here, you will be asked to enter other personal details along with Bank Information. Save the details to proceed to the next step.
  • Application Form – After entering all the details in the application form, you need to click on Verify and Lock Button. This will save the information and we recommend you to verify the information here as you will not be able to make the changes after you lock the information.
  • Download and Print Form – Now, the next step is to download the completed form. Also, obtain a printout of the form. You need to sign the form wherever required and also attach the self-attested copy of the documents listed above.
  • Submission of Form – This form needs to be submitted to Block Development Officer in your area along with the documents that you attach. You can also submit the form to PO or DWO if your area falls under a municipality.

Renewal Process for Oasis Scholarship

It should be noted that you would need to renew the scholarship every year to continue the benefits until you are eligible. Below is the process to renew the scholarship.

  • Homepage – To renew your application, you need to visit http://oasis.gov.in/ and on the website, click on Renew Scholarship from the home screen.
  • Login – Now, login with the login details that you used while signing up for the scholarship website. The application details will be visible to you. You can make changes here if it is needed or else continue with the process.
  • Renew Application – In the next step, you can click on Renew Application Button to proceed and you will now be prompted to enter the present academic status for yourself. Once this is done, click on renew and lock button to proceed.
  • Submission of Application – Obtain the printout of the form and attach the relevant documents to the application. Once that is done, submit the application just like you did while applying for the scholarship.
