Old Age Pension Uttar Pradesh 2023 – How to Apply, Eligibility and Status

The Uttar Pradesh Government has introduced a pension scheme for the old aged people known as the Old age pension scheme known to benefit the people above the age of 60 who are not able to survive alone and are dependent on others for their survival. They have no source of income for their living and have no support from family or relatives. The pension scheme was introduced by the Uttar Pradesh state benefitting the old aged people with financial stability.

The pension for beneficiaries received an amount of Rs 800 monthly which was Rs 50 extra than the previous scheme introduced by the government. The government helped the senior citizen from the lower class/backward class of the society to enjoy this scheme with all the benefits provided. The amount to the pensioners was transferred to them through their bank account and was credited automatically every month without any delay.

Following are the ways by which the pension is applied in turn benefiting the old aged people and their beneficiaries:

• Visit the website http://sspy-up.gov.in/AboutScheme/app_frmt_oap.pdf
• Click on Old age pension
• Click on the Apply online
• The application form can be filled online by clicking on the new entry form
• The necessary details for filling the application form are District, Tahsil, Resident, Applicant name, DOB, Age, Father’s/Husband’s Name, Gender, Phone Number, Mobile Number, Email, Full address, locality and zip code
• The necessary documents required for applying are applicant’s domicile certificate, birth certificate, address proof like house agreement, HSLC, community/caste certificate, driving license, aadhar number, income certificate, and bank passbook
• Upload the passport size of the applicant
• Select the category and sub-category
• Upload the birth certificate of the applicant
• Select the identity certificate and enter its number
• Enter the aadhar card number of the applicant
• Upload the identity certificate of the applicant
• Enter the bank details of the applicant like bank name, account number, bank branch name
• Upload the bank passbook of the applicant
• Enter the income of the members of the family and upload the income certificate issued by the authorized person
• Enter the BPL list Number
• After entering all the details, click on the Save button for saving the details
• Before submitting the application form, the details can be viewed by clicking on the view application form
• Select the scheme, district, and register number
• Enter the captcha and get the details of the saved application form
• After clicking on submit, acknowledgment with registration number is generated which can be used for checking the status
• After editing the application, final submit button is clicked for final submission of the application
• After final submission, the application is forwarded to the concerned department DSWO for review
• The application form is submitted to the DSWO / DHYO / DPO within a month after the application form’s final submission. The application form is submitted along with the relevant documents for approval and will receive an acknowledgment slip for application form submission

The eligibility criteria for allotment of National old age scheme for pensioners are:

• The applicant should not have any support from anyone or close relatives or should not be able to fund himself
• An applicant who is not looked upon by anyone
• If the applicant is of a habitual beggar, he/she is not eligible for the pension
• The applicant must belong to the backward class or the weaker class of the society
• The applicant should be of 60 years and above
• The applicant should be a resident of the state
• The applicant must be registered in the BPL list

• Visit the website http://sspy-up.gov.in/IndexOAP.aspx
• Click on application status
• Select the scheme name as Old age pension
• Enter the application registration number provided during the form submission
• Enter the bank account number
• Enter the captcha code
• Click on submit to know your status

The scheme has benefited many old aged people and their beneficiaries in the state of Uttar Pradesh and is of great help to them.
