Who is the brand ambassador of Free Fire in India?

Free Fire India roped in multiple sports persons as its brand ambassadors in September 2023. They are cricketer MS Dhoni, badminton player Saina Nehwal, footballer Sunil, tennis legend Leander Paes and boxer Vijendra Singh.

Free Fire is a battle-royale game developed by 111 dots Studio and published by Garena. It can be played on both Android and iOS operating systems. Free Fire was released on 8th December 2017 and became the most downloaded mobile game globally, with over 1 billion downloads on Google Play Store.

Free Fire features two modes, namely Battle Royale and Clash Squad. In Battle Royale, 50 players are dropped on an island to fight each other till the last player stands. Clash Squad involves two teams of four players, each fighting each other in a best of 5 match format. The players can select between characters, weapons, vehicles, and more.

Free Fire was banned in India in February 2022. Thereafter, Garena announced the launching of Free Fire India, which is tailored to the Indian audience. The launch was slated for 5th September 2023, but it was postponed indefinitely. The expected launch in November did not materialize as well. However, pre-registrations for Garena Free Fire India are live on the Google Play Store. The game will automatically install on the day of release in the event of pre-registration.
