PQC Full Form In Road Construction

PQC Full Form in Road Construction is pavement quality concrete. When constructing concrete roads, PQC is placed on top as a protective layer. Typically, the thicknesses are between 180 and 300 millimeters.

Design mix PQC concrete is BGSB’s forte; it differs significantly from the standard M40 mix. Automatic Truss Screed machines are used to lay PQC roads because their hydraulically controlled movement system produces an exceptionally uniform screed finish.

The screed board incorporates a vibrator, so the entire cast slab gets the same amount of vibration and compacting. Using a combination of extension modules, the panel’s width can be increased to a maximum of 50 feet. The most intriguing application for this machine is meeting the requirements of “very flat” flooring regulations.

Important notes for PQC

Aggregates

Clean natural sand, crushed stone dust, or a mixture of the two that meets IS:383 standards can all be used as fine aggregates in PQC building projects. Shale, Clay, cemented particles, loam, mica, & organic or foreign stuff shouldn’t be present. Mix design must take into account the potential decrease in concrete strength due to the presence of mica in fine aggregate.

Cement

For PQC building, fly ash can be mixed in at a maximum percentage of 20% as a partial replacement for regular portlandĀ grade cementĀ 53.

Cement grades lower than 53 are not permitted to include GGBFS that complies with IS:12089.

Blending on-site will require a minimum of 310 kg/cum of OPC for PQC construction in accordance with MoRTH, and The combination will be carried out in accordance with IRC: 44.

Fly ash content in Portland Pozzolana Cement used for paving should be at or below 25%.

Cement used must be sulphate-resistant and meet the standards set forth in IS: 12330.
