Boiling Eggs in Electric Kettle

One can use an electric kettle to boil eggs, which is the perfect way to have boiled eggs. It is simple to boil eggs using a kettle, but ensure that your kettle doesn’t have exposed coils at its bottom. Such exposed coils will burn the eggs and spoil them. For boiling the eggs, you have two methods such as

  • Soft-Boiling the Eggs
  • Hard-Boiling the Eggs

Soft-Boiling the Eggs

  • Place eggs inside the kettle

Take an electric kettle and open the lid to place the eggs inside it. Place the eggs gently inside the kettle to avoid getting cracks while boiling. While placing the eggs, ensure that you fill only half of the kettle. Placing more eggs will avoid even cooking of eggs. Never shake the kettle, as it will crack the eggs.

  • Covering eggs with 1 inch or 2.5 cm of water

After placing the eggs inside the kettle, hold it to fill the cool water beneath the faucet. Fill the water and check the kettle is filled with water of 1 inch above eggs.

  • Switch on the electric kettle

Now, you can plug-in the kettle and switch it on for boiling eggs. After boiling the eggs, the kettle will automatically turn off. If your kettle is not automatic, then you need to turn off manually once the water starts to bubble.

  • Take the boiled eggs out of kettle and place in a cold water bowl

Take a medium-sized bowl and fill it with cold water. Place the bowl near the kettle and open the kettle to take out eggs. Use a large spoon or another vessel to take out the eggs. Now, place those eggs in the bowl containing cold water. This will stop further cooking of eggs. Ensure that you have cold water in the bowl or else add some ice cubes to make it colder.

  • Peel the boiled eggs once they are cold

Once you find boiled eggs are cool to touch, and then take out from cold water. Peel off the shell of soft-boiled eggs and place them in another bowl. Now, the eggs are ready to serve and eat. Serve the eggs with some salt and pepper to get some delicious taste of eating.

Hard-Boiling the Eggs

  • Place the eggs inside the kettle and fill them with water

Gently place the eggs inside the kettle to prevent cracks on eggs. After placing the eggs, you need to fill the kettle with water of 1 inch above eggs. Ensure that you use cold water to fill the eggs. Also, avoid filling more eggs that cross half of your kettle capacity.

  • Turn on the kettle and allow it to boil

Switch the kettle on and allow the eggs to boil. Don’t disturb the kettle while it is boiling the eggs as it turns off automatically once it reaches the end of boiling the eggs. If you have to turn off manually, wait until you notice the bubbling of water. Now, could you turn it off manually?

  • Leave the eggs for 15 minutes in the kettle

Now, you have to fix the timer for 15 minutes for the hard-boiling of the eggs. Allow the eggs to boil in hot water for 15 minutes and then take them out from the kettle. Place a bowl of cold water near the kettle, so that you place the boiled eggs in it. Use a big spoon to take out the eggs from the kettle. Thus, for hard-boiling the eggs, you need to set the timer for 15 minutes. For little softer eggs, you can reduce the timer to 13 minutes.

  • Peel the eggs and eat them

Now, you can peel off the shell, and the hard-boiled eggs are ready to eat. If you find some bits of shell get stuck on the egg, you can show it under running water to peel it off easily. Now, you can eat the eggs or else store them in a refrigerator for later use. Serve the hard-boiled eggs with a little amount of salt and pepper to enhance the taste. Serve with a salad to get some good protein.
