How to Get Refund if IRCTC Ticket Not Booked But Money Debited?

There are times when while booking the ticket, you may experience a technical issue and in such a case, the ticket might not get booked however the money could have been debited from the account. Do not panic if this happened with you as the money will be refunded back to you. In this article, we have listed the procedure to get the refund for the ticket which has not been booked but the money has been debited from the account.

Transaction Failure

If your transaction failed while booking the ticket via www.irctc.co.in then your money will be auto-refunded to 5 to 10 working days. The money will be refunded at the source and you will have nothing to worry about. In addition to this, the bank will conduct a verification before refunding the money but you will not have to be involved here. In case of any delay, you can get in touch with the bank and check if the payment was settled or not. If they say that amount was settled then you will have to get in touch with IRCTC however, the chances of this is very slim.

Booking Failure

There are times when the payment is settled by the bank but the ticket is not booked because of the technical issue or the choice of berth which is not available. In such a case, IRCTC receives the payment and they refund backs the amount in 1 to 2 working days. Also, once the amount is received by the bank, they will credit it back into your account in 2 to 4 working days. The total SLA of the process is 3 to 6 working days.
